Kayaking at Round Valley Reservoir

Do I really need a Boat Ramp Maintenance Permit to launch a kayak from the boating area? should I go to the South lot instead?

No permit needed.
When you pull into boat launch area look to the left. There is a seperate parking area which leads down to water. This area is for kayak launching.
They only charge people who use the concrete boat launch, which is suitable for backing a trailered boat into the water.
