Wasn't sure if I was going to ride today. Made the effort to get out to return some CDs to the Library and road test after maintenance.

Wasn't sure what I could get a picture of and happened to see a vulture sitting on a post. I took his picture and then he flew away. But there were 2 more vultures on 2 nearby posts and I got a picture of those.

KVSP mtb ride. Sadly, this is my first time in here this season. I love this place. Photo from one of my favourite spots - top of blue.

I missed the rain today and had a nice ride. https://www.strava.com/activities/706977949

Here is an example of glacial quarrying at Wawayanda, it is a phenomenon that is responsible for the erosion and transportation of individual pieces of bedrock, especially large "joint blocks". As a glacier moves down a valley, friction causes the basal ice of the glacier to melt and infiltrate joints (cracks) in the bedrock. The freezing and thawing action of the ice enlarges, widens, or causes further cracks in the bedrock as it changes volume across the ice/water phase transition (a form of hydraulic wedging), gradually loosening the rock between the joints. This is what the furnace was built with as well as much of the village.

Was able to squeeze in only 40minutes yesterday due to turning around and heading home because it started raining. My bike melts in the rain :(

Pete, love the information on Wayayanda, would love to hear more! Especially about the village and the pipe running under the lake to bring water to the people of Newark during that drought.

Reggiehammond, do you know Jackie from that Skylands Thursday night ride? Did a ride with a few of those people last week in Green Township, good stuff.

I think I'm out of this one, I need to actually let my ribs heal. One of them is clicking around and hurts a lot now. Meh.
