  • Set out to do century with @jumpa. @soundz was there.
  • Perfect temps, cloudy, but windy.
  • Took a bunch of breaks.
  • Battery started blinking at around 70ish miles.
  • Rocked it until 75m for good measure and got back to the car in time to Bluetooth the file to my phone and called it a day.
  • Legs were shot but everything else wanted to keep going.
  • Failed century, but still happy with the result and the longest ride to date for me. Hopefully the Garmin lasts longer next time and I'll keep truckin.

A friend texted me about a group ride at Stewart last night. I figured I should go because it's local, plus this thread. I was thinking that by group he meant 3-10 people. I pull up and see a ton of people standing around with bikes and immediately wrote the day off as a slow cruise. It was a Wheel & Heel shop ride, located in Wappingers. I was happy to see that the pace was actually pretty good and was pushing a bit to stay at the front, then dropped back and hung with a couple familiar locals. My legs were hurting a bit from yesterday and I needed to be home by noon anyway, so I split off and booked it back down New Road solo. The giant, brown dog was FAST! Singletrack monster. Too bad the air show at Stewart didn't start early enough for me to catch some action before I headed home.

9/3- Did a Saturday night Waywayanda Ride with the GF to test out her new bike. It was all her idea to buy a bike!
She did great! With a few pointers from her IMBA coach boy ;)

9/4- Showed a friend some farm country roads. Only reason for a photo to post is because he took it. Ha. Then caught the NY Air Show for the Thunderbirds, great weather, great weekend. Get out and ride this week!

Well, I haven't been so diligent in uploading my rides as they happen....I'll work on that. In addition, I don't tend to take many photos while riding as well....I'll work on that too.

Here are my rides for September to date:

September 1st: https://www.strava.com/activities/697332130
Weekly Thursday night road ride with my local bike club. Sorry; no photos.

September 2nd: https://www.strava.com/activities/698241756
Snuck out of work a bit early on Friday and gave a tour of Stephens to some Central Jersey folk. The thanked me by a tasty IPA afterwards. Great way to start the weekend!! Sorry; no photos.

Another road ride with my road club. This was advertised as a mellow REC ride with No Hills. We ended up riding up and over Jenny Jump State Park which included a few hills. Was hoping for an easy day as I wanted to rest for the Deer Park/Stephens double that was lined up for the next day. No such luck. Sorry; no photos.

September 4th: https://www.strava.com/activities/700499466
Met up with some regular peeps and two "special guests" at Rutherford Hall/Allamuchy School to start the Deer Park/Stephens double. Three out of the five of us were rolling out on our SS's for some leg burning fun. Played around Deer Park, had a smile from ear to ear on the Rogue Trail (that is one FUN trail) which eventually dropped us into the Iron Gate at Stephens were we met up with 8 others waiting for us. I was deemed act as the tour guide and off we rolled. Took the group through the not so typical loop for out of towners. Climbed up to Upper Stephens and played around up there before bombing down to lower Stephens.

Eventually dropped off the 8 +1 at the Iron Gate before the remaining 4 of us stared the death march up Orange back into Stephens. Not a fun climb on a SS!!

All in all.....super fun day out there and many compliments on the tour guide services. A couple of minor spills, one chunky spill, and no mechanicals. Compliments to @sarcaro for her photo taking skills.
