While going up a steep little punchy climb, my MAD WATTS YO slipped my wheel in the dropouts on the complete opposite side of where I parked. Tire was jammed against the frame and wouldn't spin freely. No wrench. I tried using a tree, then a big log to try to bang the hub back into place via the nut. No go, so I shouldered the beast and did some cyclocross hiking to the nearest road to wait for a local friend with an adjustable wrench. Not wanting to take any more risks, I booked it out of the park down the gravel road and stayed off singletrack for the remainder of the ride. Sad face. Time for a tug nut.

First ride after being told by the doctor that I shouldn't be riding with a torn muscle in my arm. FWIW, I agree. Two weeks later (after ignoring it for 3), and the arm is finally getting better.

Not in the running anymore, but mom’s up to 20 miles now, and getting the hang of riding as a diabetic.

Hour and 15 minutes Dickerson Mine. Blue and white

Busy afternoon at DM. Saw 2 cyclists, 1 hiker and his dog, and a motorcyclist. Gave the motorcyclist "the look." He gave me "the look" back.

Forgot to take a photo. Here is another one from yesterday.

Headed southwest towards the town center in Califon. There was a huge tag sale as they called it going on. Looked like everyone was having a garage sale, but maybe if they don't have a garage, they call it a tag sale.

In Long Valley, I saw 3 male turkeys on the side of the road. When I stopped to peep in at a all the chatter they were making, I saw what looked like 20 wild turkeys, mostly females hiding in the brush.

The weather was so nice, I just kept going as it was really nice to still ride in a short sleeve jersey, although the other riders I saw all seemed to have on jackets.

It was the in-law's last weekend before heading south to the land of silver tops = minimal riding for me.

Was hoping to get out for a nice road loop in the early am on Sunday before hitting the sticks for the 2nd time this year.

Unfortunately, the ride was cut short as I watched some poor guy take a nasty spill right in front of me. Knocked himself out for 3+ min. Nothing looked to be broken...just banged up pretty good. EMS showed up and were VERY concerned with him being out for so long. Ended up airlifting the poor guy out of there. Felt bad as he seemed to have his bearings straight....guess you can't be too careful with head injuries. Hope he is healing up well.

Took my time heading back to my truck.
