I tried flat pedals yesterday

Finally got a pair of 510 shoes and what a difference they make over the Vans. The sole is a lot harder and more supportive and they stick to the pedals like glue. In fact, I literally have to lift my foot off the pedals to make any position adjustments. I feel like I'm clipped in almost..And they feel a lot more protective than my vans.

I have a pair of those. Awesome shoes..and like you said they stick to the pedals.

I dug-out the Suntour XC-II bear-trap pedals that came on my '86 Fat Chance. Back in the day you pretty much run what ya brung (i.e. not a lot of choices). So, I slightly modified the cages...

Dang why didn't I think of that? Already ordered a new pair (I went to the LBS and they looked at me like I had two heads when inquiring about 5-10s - they never heard of them!) - coming tomorrow
