Anyone have a turtorial or the steps on how to do the conversion.
im putting my bike on weight watchers and i see i never use my 3rd ring on my crankset during a race. i have stylo cranks, x0 rd xt fd and x9 shifters

ive converted a few bikes to 2x9... but im not sure if there was any significant weight savings involved....

Basically, the point was to eliminate the large chain ring for more clearance on the trails. So all i did was replace the large chain ring with a bash guard (or bash ring) sized for a 32t chainring and set the limit screws on the front derailleur so it wouldn't go further than 2nd gear if you tried to shift it.

Why not go 1x9? Then you get some weight savings
