Garmin 520 any good?

I have a new Garmin 520. Before I go out and use it I am wondering if I should have gotten an 820. I see that I can't upload the maps that @gtluke setup. But I don't necessarily want mapping. I want to be able to download routes from Strava and Ride with GPS and have turn-by -turn. So as I'm coming up to a turn point I get an audible sound and turn signal on the Garmin.

Anyone have experience with this? I can still return the 520 if need be.

The 520 will beep when you are off course, and you can view of the map of the course. But it will not give you turn by turn directions. I believe it is the 820 that will do that.

I think the biggest seller for the 820 and 1000 is the wifi feature
Never load anything because mine don't have wifi, I have the 500 and 800

you can upload via bluetooth with the 520 doe.

you cant use lukes cool map but i would not hesitate to navigate a place i didn't know with it if you had a GPX file of the land.

The 520 will do turn by turn if the route you download has that data. One benefit of the 820 is you can pan along the screen, where the 520 only zooms in and out.
