unfortunately @ReggieHammond had a work thing come up, so we will not be able to go to allamuchy this week (unless someone else knows the park and wants to lead a tour, LMK)

so alternatively we will make a second attempt to hit up Jungle Habitat (the park formerly known as). what time do we want to meet? i believe the intial plan so for 0930, if noone objects we will run the same plan.

@fidodie
@michael.su
@knobbyhead
@Mare45
@MissJR

This Friday?

I plan to join if the trails are decent. Reggie showed me a loop recently, but I don't trust myself enough to remember it, otherwise I'd repeat it with you.

That being said, either park works for me...both are far, so what's the difference? :)

well lets get a vote going, i can also download the gps track from the trail directory, or maybe @ReggieHammond can provide me with one to follow while we are out there so we dont have to completely change our plans.

i actually know jungle well enough to have a good time sans map or tracks

Here are a few for you to explore.

Park 'n Ride ( Rt. 206 Cranberry Lake) Start:

I really like this loop, but it doesn't include some of the fan favorites; Lumpy Bumpy or Rollie Pollie.

This does have the fan favorites mixed in; Lumpy Bumpy and Rollie Pollie

Sussex Branch Parking Lot Start:

This is a short and sweet loop. It was 8* when we started, so a long ride was not in the cards that day.

This one is fun with a little extra climbing in the beginning as well as a very cool overlook. If you don't want to do this, just skip the Turquoise trail off to the left.

I am waiting to see what happens tomorrow before I cast my vote because if I vote for Allamuchy, you pick Allamuchy, then I can't make it, I will be bummed! Not saying I am voting for Allamuchy or anything

mooch
unless we need to go and flatten the snow at the scout camp (with permission and a escort.)
it is still mooch.

I’m in Budd Lake and we got about 24”
Might get lucky if some snowshoers get out today and pack some stuff down

maybe we should pick a park and do as much maintenance as we can...CR maybe? Sourlands?
i think 6MR is going to be snow over mud, so rather not trek into there.
@Kirt?

I took advantage of the cancelled meetings and jumped on the bike for a few hours yesterday afternoon with @JohneeOxford

The snow cover is no joke. It was a major workout just riding up the Sussex Branch towards the end of the ride.

Unfortunately, I would think twice before making an hour or so ride up here. I doubt it will be much fun tomorrow.

agreed. i'm going to do some TM at RV around 10:00 if anyone wants to jump in.
start in RV scuba/south lot with bike - bring whatever you got (like a sawzall with batteries and a wood blade)
