me: sure, i pulled a tape measure through
Matt: tape is an inch wide, beam is 5.5 (it is 24'4" long)
result: didn't fit
solution: Matt made it fit by removing part of wall.

Me: we are just bringing the beam in
Matt: why, you'll have the manpower, put it in place (he actually used a derogatory term for skinny roadies)
me: um, ok
90 minutes later, only one major mess up, and beam is in place. I'll fix the mess-up tomorrow, and post a couple pics.

we then put about 1:20 into a loop of nassau. No mechanicals, no crashes - although i hit the log ride on west side and the bike ejected like ice.
probably a little too not-conservative given i'm only 16 days out from race day....
no daydrinking happened - this is probably a good thing.

Fri ride cancelled? Either way I can't go.
