Maxxis DHF 29x x2.5 3c Maxx Terra EXO TR front tire
Maxxis Ardent 29 x 2.4 EXO TR Rear tire

Had these on my Pivot for ONE ride. It was an experiment of sorts to see what a larger tire felt like. I ended up getting a plus size wheelset made with 2.8 tires. $80 bucks for the pair. Paid $134 for the set from Jensen. Meet at High Mountain for the drop off or in the area (I live in Wayne). Or rumor has it I'll be at 6m this Saturday 5/27 if conditions permit.

Still getting used to the 27.5 x 2.8 but the ardent 29 x 2.25 I have on my 29 wheels are definitely more snappy on descents. I tend to feel like I wash out more with the 2.8+

Dhf + ardent is one of my favorite combos on trail. Hope you find d your legs on your 2.8's

how good are Ardents at shedding mud?, my Ralphs are useless in spring conditions
Really? I thought mine were awesome in the mud.

From what I've run that I can remember, I'd rate them as:
  1. 2.25 Racing Ralph
  2. 2.1 Ignitors
  3. 2.3 Minion DHR - This one could be #2 because it's awesome straight, but because of the spacing, their lateral traction in mud isn't as good.
  4. 2.25 Ardent

in CR the PBNJ type just sticks to my tires.
I don't ride much in mud, maybe just my luck
I'll have lots of opportunities to test it out this weekend... ;)

Minion front? ill take them...my current set will wear out someday I guess
