If your going to invest in a standby unit I would recommend the sevice plan. I guess they all vary in price. I have a 60kw generac that has been problem free and paid for itself a few times over. The service/maint plan is a must on any size unit.

Where do you have a 60k? Thats a really big unit. Residential? Commercial?

Commercial. The gas meter howls when its running. That also reminds me that if your getting quotes for units that run of NG you will have to check with your service provider to ensure your meter will feed the genorator.
