Here is a way to clean your brakes without taking anything apart. Put a rubber band on your brake lever so the brake pads rub but you can still turn the wheel. Get denatured alchohol. That is the kind they sell at the hardware store. Soak a clean ,white rag, like a piece of an old t shirt. Hold it against the rotor and turn the wheel so the wet rotor passes across the pad material. Do this after rides that are especially wet and dirty.
