Went for a ride at lunch today and was surprised at the amount of downed branches. It was mostly smaller stuff that could be rode over but there was some large stuff down that had to be walked around. I saw the park staff out working so hopefully they will get it cleared up fairly quickly.

Yep, rode out there this AM...Most of the fresh blowdowns we noted were on trails east of the Sussex Branch, closer to 206. We removed a bunch of them, but there were a few that required saws. If you ride KVSP this weekend, bring a handsaw in case the park guys don't get to it all.
Soil conditions were great, despite the rain from the night before. It must have been so bone-dry before hand the ground just soaked it in. Narry a mudhole anywhere.
