Day 9
The whirlwind tour of the world continues. This morning I woke up in Montreal and jumped out around 7:00 for a quick hour in the park across the street from where we stayed. As I write this D is out doing the same thing with Zac, who is riding a bike way too big. But it's a closed loop and all they have to worry about is people with errant dogs and mirrors glued all over them. The park loop is car & bus-free. Today was just a workman-like clock punching effort. Just get it done, get a shower, and get ready to go. Well, I'll drink 9-43 espressos in there too I imagine.
We head home today but that won't last. Tomorrow I need to be in Delaware for an 8:30am workshop. I'll be down there for 3 days. The bright side? I'll be 10 minutes away from White Clay.

At nearly the farthest point from home, there was a loud crack, which turned out to be one of the steel bolts that attaches the carbon seat post cap getting sheared off. Now I have to see about drilling out the broken bolt. In the meantime, i have a shorter seat post cap that i can use for my fat ass.

I find it kindof strange that with no climbing, and sub 15mph average, your estimated avg wattage is close to 200.. Do you have your weight in strava
as 300lbs?
See yesterday's ride. Straight up the mountain, 1100 feet in ~2 miles, and the average power is 107w. I can't imagine why you would put any credence in any estimated number Strava tells you ever again. I put out 107 watts when I crap.
Yes although the seat post cap kept slipping down as I rode home. I just didn't want to over tighten the single bolt and crush the carbon seat mast part of the frame. At least it could bottom out so there was a point at which it stopped slipping.Of all the things that could have made a "loud crack", that's a pretty favorable choice.
