Incredibly profound yet fantastically flawed
Day 20 - Part I and Part II

Total Miles 31.6
Total Time: 1:54:54

Another ridiculously hot set of rides. This afternoon's ride was so hot it screwed up my Garmin's elevation readings. Tonight, I intended to get in about 25 on the road, but when I went to pick up my road bike, it still needed new tape put on, so I had to wait. Once I was able to get started, I only did 16 miles, mostly because I started the ride with empty legs on Burnt House Hill Road, which is a series of about four or five short, steep climbs over less than three miles. I felt like I was crawling to the top and from there I was just cooked and kind of took it easy the rest of the ride.

So, considering all that ... how about a horse who likes to dress up as The Gimp?

Day 21

Got out early to avoid the bees. It felt, bad. hard time getting rolling, but it is going to be a busy day,
and there is plenty to do, so suck it up, buttercup.

was deciding between climbing long hill, or montgomery. a sign indicated that montgomery is going to be chip-sealed next week, made the decision easy. Up I go. Unmotivated, but did fine. The dirt section was fun, just wet enough to make me nervous.

Went to Wild Cat Wednesday. Had a large group of 9-10, with a brief @UtahJoe sighting.

Unfortunately, right after we crossed to the Denmark side of Route 513 a fallen tree or large branch got kicked up into my chain and the sacrificial bolt for my rear derailleur hanger sheared off. I stopped quickly and was found the rear derailleur caught on my spokes. I shortened the chain to single-speed it back to the car. Dan was kind enough to provide some velcro for me to attach the dangling mech to the frame. @sarcaro was kind enough to shepherd me back to the parking lot, which was luckily mostly downhill. Thanks, Stef

JORBAnd might be a bit too short for task, not that I thought about it since longer velcro strips were kindly offered. I should test and see if it would work.

I. So yabba dabba doo, eat a stick of glue! Going to wreck some Thai food tonight. Hells yes!

/QUOTE]

@Norm -- I must admit, I ate a lot of glue as a kid, and now a lot of Thai as an adult. I like Thai better, for sure...I think. Man that looks good...

Day 21 - half day at work, so two hours during the hottest time of the day. But really had no issues with the heat. Was a little tired starting the ride, but felt better as it went on. No pics today because I had to get home before 5 and wanted to get two hours, which is exactly what I ended up with .
