So who's excited? I'm excited.

I saw a preview video of the venue in Croatia by a local team. Apparently a rocky tire and wheel killer, which could shake up the results.

September 4-9 - Lenzerheide, Switzerland (World Championship)

I think you're mistaking the overall UCI points ranking for the World Cup points. While Danny came on strong at the end of 2016, it wasn't quite enough to overtake Gwin for the series overall:

Somehow we missed a change in the rules about the starting order. The protected top 20 will be the last riders to head down the mtn, followed by the rest of the field. So in the case of tomorrow, the fastest qualifier will start before these 20 riders. I'm not sure how I feel about this... in some ways, I can understand the reasoning behind, expressed during the RedBullTV "pre-race" show broadcast earlier today.
