Would like to add some more MTB races to my schedule this year, but also need to balance with coaching NICA.

This is what I can see so far on BikeReg, plus the NICA races, and just guessing MTBNJ Short Track is 4 Sundays in a row starting Feb 26th so it ends before March Mayhem.

Sunday, February 26, 2017 MTBNJ Short Track #1
Sunday, March 05, 2017 MTBNJ Short Track #2
Sunday, March 12, 2017 MTBNJ Short Track #3
Sunday, March 19, 2017 MTBNJ Short Track #4
Saturday, March 25, 2017 H2H #1 - March Mayhem
Sunday, April 02, 2017 NICA #1 - Wild West Windsor
Sunday, April 23, 2017 NICA #2 - Quick, Slick Six
Saturday, April 29, 2017 H2H #3 - Waywayanda Spring Cleaning
Sunday, May 07, 2017 NICA #3 - Morris Mania
Sunday, May 21, 2017 NICA #4 - Gloucester Gasser
Sunday, June 04, 2017 NICA #5 - Chester Championship Challenge
Sunday, June 04, 2017 Bearscatt 50 MASS
Sunday, June 11, 2017 H2H #? - Bulldog Rump

Anyone have insight into what the other H2H dates are, or other non H2H races?

Really interested to see what the NICA courses look like... If it is anything like the Six Mile version @jdog is setting up, I bet they would be awesome ST/CX loops.

They're definitely tame when compared to the "usual" XC course. Remember, there will be 6th graders riding/racing. I've got 5 sixth graders and 4 seventh graders on my team. Wood be great ST options I think, but not sure CX race would work. Then again, I know very little. NICA has very strict guidelines regarding terrain, start/finish chutes, passing zones, and general safety. Gotta get to 6mr to check out what @jdog did. We rode the proposed course a few months ago, assume it's the same/very similar.

if you're driving to VA for CX, these races are in your racing perimeter. Definitely recommend the MASS XC races.
That wasn't my idear. Wouldn't have done it if not for birfday party in DC. Good point doe.
From my house in Bordentown, the furthest race was Marysville PA just North of Hershey PA. Everything was well within 2 hours each way. Between Short track, H2H and MASS, there is a butt ton of racing to be had within two hours of us from March - Aug.

I'm hoping they're a bit more than riding around in a grass field though. The only downside to the NICA thing is basing skill sets and courses by age instead of experience level. My son may be a 6th Grader, but he can hold his own pretty much anywhere and I feel that he's going to be very bored at these races.

Oh, I don't have an illusions that they would actually morph into a real MTB event. I always felt that a mix of ST/XC type of course with tons of room for passing, little tamer, maybe 60% mountain bike course, 40% open cyclocross race, 3-4 mile course, for an hour on the MTBs would be kind of cool.

I've always wanted to do a loop at Six Mile like Jay is cutting, I think it would be rippin' fast and would be a hoot with a bunch of other likeminded goons chasing each other, maybe with lights on?

Admittedly I haven't read the entire rule book yet, but wonder if a kid like that could "cat up". Not sure. Is he involved?
