3rd Annual MTBNJ.com Fall Picnic, "What's in your pot?"

Event: 3rd Annual MTBNJ.com Picnic
Date: Sunday, October 11, 2009
Location: Lewis Morris County Park, Main Pavilion
Time: 12:00 to ??? (or dusk, whichever comes first)

*THIS IS THE CORRECT DATE. I WAS CONFUSING THE MDR TM DATE WHEN I POSTED THIS EARLIER TODAY.*

All are invited to attend the 3rd Annual MTBNJ.com Picnic. This event will be held at Lewis Morris County Park in Morristown, NJ. This is a family-friendly event intended to bring together riders, their partners, and children for a fun day of riding trails, sharing great food, and getting to know each other better.

We have reserved the main sheltered picnic pavilion, where the Lewis Morris Challenge is staged. Start time is approximate, and this is an all day event.

It looks like we will have a great turnout for the picnic and appreciate your offers to help feed this crowd. This will be a "Bring Your Own Beverage(s) of Choice" event. We had a LOT of great food last. Fortunately, the leftovers did not go to waste, as we were able to donate them to a local food shelter in Morristown.

We plan on doing the same this year. Here are the 4 categories, please try to serve 4-6, and we will "close" a category once it appears we have enough:

TonyW = CHARCOAL

Chips, Dips Chains & Whips (pick foods)
El Zoller = Guac
Chris26er, formally OBB = Spinach Dip
EllenSerruto = cheese & crackers and beer
UtahJoe = bean dip and chips
dnap = raw veggie platter with dip
RNG = blue corn chips

Salads/Sides
Qslvr99 = 'tater salad
Brandon = Emma's kicking spicy coleslaw

Mains
Shaggz = 9 lbs of pork
Adrian = hot dogs and buns
TedNuggest = burgers from Sussex meat packing

Desserts
Ben = MTBNJ Cookie Bars
Poor Iggy = Choc Cookies

Condiments/Extras
ChrisG = various condiments (and chips & beer)
Brandon = utensils and a plates
BiknBen = Napkins

Beverages
GTLuke = Soda & Cups
ChainSaw = 2cases of beer & southern tier harvest ale

T-Shirts and Bottle Openers will be available for sale on Sunday at "Picnic Prices":

T-Shirt: $11
Openers: $7
Combo: $16
*There are barbecue grills for cooking and warming food*

Will there be anyone to guide a short (6-7 miles) beginners ride? I've convinced my wife to come and promised her there will be an easy ride.

I was going to bring a grill but if there's already grills there then I'll just leave mine home and bring some charcoal. My wife might want to bring a food item.

I will come up with something to bring, maybe I will see if the wife can whip up a dip or something.

If it is a chilly kind of fall day I am bringing a huge pot of soup! I will need to pull my car down to the pavillion.
BTW what was the final scoop on power and music? Let me know and I will bring some kind of simple system.
