I grew up in Carteret (I'll keep my opinions of the town to myself), but geographically it's a great starting point for you if you can bring your bike to work... exit 12 on the turnpike leaves you 30minutes from most places in north jersey, 440 (287) starts in Perth Amboy (next town over) and you're 30 minutes from Chimney Rock, you can catch Rt 1 in Rahway (next town over in the other direction) and be 30 minutes from Six Mile Run...

either way... welcome...

Welcome! I lived in Woodbridge for 10 years (just moved last Aug). The good thing is that there are a ton of major highways that converge on the town, so you can be on your way fairly quickly.

Still, 30+ mins to the trail and 30+ mins home, and 2 hrs+ of ride time quickly approaches 1/2 of your day is devoted to riding. Which is fine if you have the time Also the road riding is NFG in that area.

Not to be a downer or anything...

My fiancee and I are picking up the house hunt again. One of my criteria is proximity to riding.
