    Belleplain SF Conditions

Anyone know of today's conditions since there was a lot of rain yesterday? I'm in the area and was hoping to ride BSP later today. Thank you in advance.

    The new sheriff

Interesting, I've never been on their blog, will check out now. But I hear ya, I've been going back there for over 20 years, and have removed more trash than they ever will.

    The new sheriff

I think it's just one person with the BRP who doesn't like MTB's. I came across him on the trails last year. He was hiking with a few others. All were friendly except him. He didn't say anything but shot me plenty of dirty looks. I believe the 'Nature Trials' (red signs) weren't meant to be...

    Another new trail

I tried this new yellow REI marked trail this weekend. It needs to harden up but just like the white REI trail, it's twisty and fun. The white trail has firmed and is in A-1 condition. The FBRP is currently re-routing trails in the middle portion of the Preserve near the two old reservoirs...

    New Loop in BRP

The Friends of the BRP and REI recently took advantage of the mild February weather and cut a new 2.8 mile loop in the BRP. I rode it for the 2nd time this morning. It has a Wharton feel to it, tight, twisty, fun. The difference being that since it's cut into a ridge you are always slightly...

    Riding Black Run Dec 24&25

I'd love to, but I won't be available those days. There is a map at the trailhead showing the marked trails. There's also singletrack that isn't marked. It's tough to get lost as most unmarked trails loop or just dead end. And if you have a fat bike, I agree the old airport area is a must...

    Black Run Preserve Conditions

During recovery from foot surgery, I've spent some times walking the trails, doing light clipping and clearing. I rode last week for the 1st time, and the trails are in superb condition. Come on over!

    Bridges & Boardwalks

Turns out I was wrong on the parking, must have misunderstood the person I spoke with, sorry.

    Bridges & Boardwalks

The newly formed Friends of Black Run wanted to provide parking and a pedestrian bridge so everyone can access the trails, including the handicapped. Although the ghetto bridge was fun to ride over, the bridge Sandman installed on the other side of this bog is great.

    Rode BRP today

The stone isn't down yet, other than what was dropped next to KR Road. At least as of Sunday morn.

    Rode BRP today

I took a long ride this morning, beautiful morning for it. All the trails I covered were clear. Lots of twigs and small branches, but no blowdowns except for one large pine just west of Kettle Run Rd near Bortons Rd, which was already cleared. Thanks to whoever did it.

    Season ending

Ah, don't worry about that. From what I hear the people governing the Black Run Preserve are only interested in making the area accessable for walkers, joggers and mountain bikers. They also are trying to keep developers from building on the south end of the preserve, below the ridge...

    Kresson Trails

Yes, I've ridden here a few times and enjoy it as it's good for my skill level. Not sure who maintains these trails but I do know the employees at Keswick on Rt. 70 ride here a lot before work.

    best riding direction?

Thanks, I was trying to figure that out too. I'll try this route as I plan on riding Sat morning. I love that lower half of the white trail.

    No parking

Yeah I was aware of that, and I do pay a yearly fee to the KGOSA for upkeep of the grounds. But I'm actually surprised they're enforcing it. I mean I don't feel it's an out of control situation. I can understand preventing something like fishing on the lakes, but I have been riding, hiking &...
