Free Subaru cargo cover. Never used.

This came with our 2014 Subaru Crosstrek, which has since been traded in. We never used it. It’s a bit dusty from being in the garage but is fully functional. Should fit at least through 2016 models and maybe up to 2021. Morristown porch pickup.

    Bear Den?

I drive to Boston for work every couple of months and usually bring my bike for a ride in MA or CT on my way back. I’ve ridden Crandall Park, Farrington Woods and a few others and have found them well marked and lots of fun. I’d like to try Bear Den next but can’t find any reviews on MTBR or...

Advice Please: Carvana: Take the money or apply toward new?

So our Subaru Crosstrek has bitten the dust. Looking to get a new car. Normally, I'd sell it to Carvana or Carmax outright (instead of trading in at dealer), then head to a dealer to negotiate on the new car. I got a decent offer from Carvana, and i can either take it outright and follow my...

    Play in Trek Fuel suspension?

Need some input from Trek Fuel owners. For the past two years my 2020 Fuel EX has exhibited a tiny amount of play in the rear suspension. When the bike is stationary on the ground and I gently lift the saddle upwards I feel some tiny vertical play in the linkage. It’s not the wheel, nor the...

Allamuchy North Trails “lighter” on Trail Forks??

Have noticed for the past few weeks most trails in Allamuchy North and Deer Park are a lighter shade of blue than usual. Whereas other parks are fine (like Stephen’s). Any significance to this?

FS: 2010 Nissan Xterra Offroad 6MT 143k Miles One Owner

I’m reluctantly selling my 2010 Nissan Xterra Off Road 6 speed manual with 143k miles. I’ve owned it since new and it has been dead reliable the entire time. It’s a beast in the snow, taking me safely through storms in Vermont for snowboarding, up Cherry Ridge road in Wawayanda after an 8”...

Is it my hub, or cassette?

Had to cut my ride short today because all of a sudden every pedal stroke on an incline resulted in drivetrain “slip”. The cassette/chain/crank would rotate but the wheel would not. I suspected a blown hub but noticed that it still makes a ratcheting sound when coasting so I assume the pawls...

Plumbers: Cost to install a new water heater?

I have a 75G Bradford White water heater that had to be replaced. I was floored at how much it cost vs when I last did this 8 years ago. The unit itself, from online searches, costs between $1500 to $2000. For those of you that are plumbing contractors, roughly how much should the total job...

Before I bugger my brakes any further…

Went to replace my Shimano pads this week as they were getting wafer thin. Did the usual..remove old pads, reset the pistons, installed new pads. Rears went fine. Fronts on the other hand rub badly. I’ve tried resetting the pistons 10 times, no luck. The pads and retaining clips are fine too...

What is this on my circuit breaker?

Our dishwasher died after a power outage a few weeks ago. Before it died, the breaker kept tripping randomly and unexplainably. Before I assume the dishwasher’s control board is fried I want to test the breaker to see if it’s gone bad. On my panel, the dishwasher is on its own circuit and has...

Long Island: Setauket (Laurel Ridge) or Edgewood Oak Brush Preserve?

Heading to LI to visit a friend today. Bringing the bike to ride afterwards. Have done most trails on the Island before but not these two. Laurel Ridge looks to be the longer/climbier one so I’m leaning towards that. But Edgewood is more convenient drive-wise. Any opinions on either one?

    Dehumidifier continuous drain kit?

Long shot here but am wondering if anyone has this kit from Frigidaire, perhaps on an older dehumidifier that you no longer need or use? The gist of the issue is I have a Frigidaire dehumidifier that has an outlet for continuous drain into my sump well. Problem is, despite following the manual...

Question on bike rack for carbon frames

I don’t own a carbon bike but my son just bought a Stumpy EVO carbon and is mulling bike racks. He currently has the pro ride XT. I have the same for my bikes and love it. But his bike is not only carbon, but also has the downtube storage area which happens to be where the rack would clamp...

Sub Zero Wine fridge trays (5): Free

Our Sub Zero wine fridge died after 20 years. Replacing with an XO beverage center instead. The SubZero wine trays (5 total) are in excellent shape. Can anyone use them? Might even be able to build a free standing rack with them if you’re handy. The new fridge comes Friday May 5 so let me...

    Dual Slide Dimmer for LED’s?

I had such great success with installing LED retrofits in this thread that I want to do the same with my primary bedroom. The challenge is the the 6 incandescent lights in the room are controlled separately (3 and 3) by one dual slide dimmer. I can’t seem to find an LED compatible dual dimmer...
