Owner of Gazelle bikes buys Cannondale, Schwinn for $810 million

I was there at the beginning when it was just 4 of us. Our boss got fired (he earned it), the rest of us quit, and Dorel bought Cannondale, GT, and Pacific to replace us. Oversimplified, yes, but I am not kidding.

Any technical rides Fri afternoon or Sat morn? 4/15-16

It was perfect. candy Ass both directions, that incredible section off Purple with all the USGS markers, Lumpy Bumpy both directions, and whatever it took to link them all together. What a gem.

Any technical rides Fri afternoon or Sat morn? 4/15-16

Six mile wasn't looking too techy in the video I watched, so it looks like I'll hit the west side of Allamuchy. Thanks.

Any technical rides Fri afternoon or Sat morn? 4/15-16

I'm around for a quick visit and would tag along on any seriously technical loop you're doing in Allamuchy, Mahlon, Wawayanda, private land, etc. 1.5-3 hrs would be great.

To custom or not to custom

I'm a custom builder. Despite that I'll say that your result will only be as good as the decisions made about what you need. If you pick a builder with ideas that don't match your needs, it's pointless. Same goes for custom fittings or having the shop employees choose a stock size for you. If...

    Ringwood revisited, 25 years later....

    Awesome write-up. Thanks for sharing. I remember when i first got into it and everything seemed impossible, and then years later when I got out of shape and everything seemed impossible and years after that when I got fat and everything seemed impossible. Each time, I pedaled through it (;

    Short trip to Asheville

I wanted to be a bit closer to family, prefer more technical trail, needed a change, and generally zig when everyone else zags...with predictable results /: I'm liking western Mass, and the Northampton area feels like a small, pre-discovery Asheville.

Did you taper/bevel the original (cut) stay sections to create more overlap in the areas where you were adding the new material?

MCS Magnum - Old School BMX

Some of those parts are worth a fair amount, far more than they cost originally. Unfortunately, the rims are faded. Not sure if they're either Araya or Ukai. The crank is probably the best part.(have a shop remove it. You'll need a crank extractor) Tires should bring a surprising amount. If...

I'd like to see more pics of how you rejoined the stays... layers inside, outside, how/what you used to fill the tube interior, etc.

    Short trip to Asheville

Diesel, Kitsuma is great, located out in Black Mountain, which is 25 minutes from Asheville, east on I-40, right where the blue ridge drops down to the Piedmont. From Buckhorn Gap, you can go the opposite direction on Black Mountain to Buckwheat and then continue on Bennett Gap (the last part...

Any thoughts on salsa woodchipper drop bars

You're probably going to want a drop-bar mtb stem, and a brief search didn't turn up much. Basicallly, they rise straight above the steerer and then curve forward for a small amount of reach. Your mtb gets its reach from the stem, and your drop bar will provide the reach, so you'll want a...

So, I put a 2.4 rear on my superbly ss and ned protection.

Search "Helicopter tape" same as or similar to the pre-cut frame protection tape, but in sheet form. Others use "mastic tape" which is available at hardware stores, but it's thicker. Either way, you'll need to check it frequently for wear.

Send all your thoughts & prayers to Schilling

Get well, soon, Chris. You're obviously someone I'd be better off knowing. Oh, and I only rode one gear at a time, today. It's all this tired body can offer.
