I think because it was originally sold with gears, but ill check tonight. It has the bottom bracket that adjusts for ss usage.

The frame looks like it can take a derailluer hanger for gears, but I've found nothing specific on the web regarding this. Also being ss, it has no cable guides.

So I really don't know the answer to this question.

Maybe. Is that a good thing? I now need something to replace the cannondale with. I've got bite hard with the ss bug.
