Anyone know anything about riding out here? Feedback? Up for road riding too.

Lake Georgetown is listed on IMBA

Hey if it's good enough for Jeff Lenosky, it's good for me! I think I've shaken his hand once. I know him. Where is he when I need him?

Due to Harvey Hurricane most of the trails were still muddy and down trees when I got there. I didn't get to ride the places I listed but the two I rode were worthwhile. I definitely would go back for the city, riding, and other recreational activities. I highly recommend it. Hopefully I can hit at least two above next time (IMBA epic Lake Georgetown for sure). Post on mtbr for tours or let me know and I'll get you in touch with the two that helped me. You will definitely need a lead.

Aside, food was great, beer was great! BBQ was mind blowing. Brisket melted in your mouth. I ate brisket 3 our of 4 days.

Day 1. Road ride - due to the muddy trails we had to road ride. Not ideal outside of the city (riding along big shoulders on state routes and tight shoulders elsewhere but we took are chances...) Riding through the city on the bike lanes and paths was a nice way to see the city.

Day 2. Pace Bend Park
($10 admission but well worth it) - techy and had a nice legit manmade park section. 40 min outside of downtown. Rented FSR B+ bikes from Bicycle Sport Shop. Perfect bike. Great shop, charged us for 24hr mtb rental for the road and B+ bike since our intention was only to ride mtb before Harvey.

Day 3. Walnut Creek Metro Park - blew my expectations. Started flowy nothing great. Then turned into beasts of berms and some tech here and there. There was this mega cool natural wall ride. Cool creek crossings riding along limestone. 10 miles north of downtown. We just rode our hardtails from Mellow Johnnys. Or you can catch a bus. There is a pump track/jump pakr but it was closed for maintenance.

I was in Austin for a conference last week and was fortunate enough to get out for a ride the day before the conference started. I landed at the airport at 11:30am and was at Mellow Johnny's picking up my rental bike by noon. It was weird AF to be riding a skinny 29er, but I actually got used to it pretty quickly. I rode straight out of the shop and onto the Barton Creek Greenbelt. There is an enormous maze of killer single track all over the place! I grabbed a few routes off Strava and loaded them on my Garmin, so I was able to find a lot of good stuff. I'm sure I missed a lot more though.

I got a little lost a few times and also took the road back to the shop, but this is a pretty solid loop:

I also went to a climbing gym out there called Austin Bouldering Project. It was insane. The walls were considerably taller than the gyms around here, and the bouldering problems were exceptional! Highly recommended if you are in the area and are into climbing:

Also, if you are in Austin, go to Touche on 6th and get flaming dr pepper shots.
