Hey everyone, another project that is in the works at Dickerson looks like it will be funded by the Morris County Trail Construction Grant Program!

http://morriscountynj.gov/2016/11/f...-fund-13-trail-projects-across-morris-county/

The trail connects the Canfield School on Canfield Avenue down to Frank Street / Dickerson Mine Road. While this trail has been there for years, it's mostly accessible late fall / winter. There was a tremendous overgrowth through the two power line cuts and a nasty patch of Japanese Knotweed.

The name for the new trail will be the Ferromonte Trail and blazed green when finished. This trail will also be part of the West Morris Greenway and feature three bridges. From the trail, you will be able to see remnants of the old Ferro Monte Railroad and scales. This is also a critical connector to access neighboring Hedden Park and Wharton trails.
