Monday Morning
I am more tired this morning than I was last night. I woke up fine but as I settle in to try and get any work done a wave of exhaustion has me glued to the couch right now. Luckily, I can drag these laptops around and work from wherever. Today would be a good day to leave the house and go hang at a Starbucks with AC on a comfy chair but being as I have to bring 2 laptops with me everywhere I go, it's too much of a pain and much less mobile. This week is the end of the Ohio contract (yeah I know I've said that before but this time it's for real) so 1 of the laptops will go in the garbage (or mail) and I'll be down to 1 for good.
Mustard
I want you to ride 35 miles on the hottest day of the year burping up mustard and get back to me. Plain yellow is the way to go.
As an aside, and I will call on
@rick81721 (who has been super quiet lately) to research this further:

I did not cramp yesterday but I will credit the 10 bottles for that as much as anything. Oh and salami.
Cat 3 and Cat 2
@pearl - the way it worked out was that I was never passed by a cat 3 and I was coming up on them after they started. But then I flatted so I only ended up catching the slowest cat 3s and the kids with parents. I did come through right at 11:00 when the cat 2s were being released from the looney bins. This was entertaining.
The top of the cat 2 classes would come by riding like bats out of hell. They would pass then I would ride their wheel for a while because most of them have such poor bike handling that they would be skidding through the corners and slamming brakes constantly. I will say that this was a strong point for me yesterday in that I was able to ride pretty smooth, especially compared to these guys. Braking as little as possible is always a bonus but in a 2 lap race you notice it less.
4 hours was good. If it were 5 I'm not sure I would have gone out for a 6th lap, but then I would have planned a bit differently perhaps. I'm not sure.
Pit Preparation
@gtluke fair point, and to be honest I never even thought about it. Next time I do something like this I'll make sure to bring extra mechanical supplies with me. I had a pump there but really I should have brought more tubes and honestly the extra wheel I have on the front porch would not have been a terrible idea. Having a spare tubeless wheel would have saved me 15 minutes of picking my ass out there on lap 5.
I also had PB crackers in my food bag, which
@Dominique laughed at. After maybe 2 laps I looked at these and said, "God what the hell was I thinking? Might as well have brought a bag of sawdust."
Otherwise it was good I think. I considered a chair but honestly if I'm sitting down I think I'm doing it wrong.
Lap Times
Strava tells me my moving times were as such:
50:33
50:37
51:51 (some riding a mostly flat tire)
53:01
51:21 (some riding on a really soft tire until rescue racer #2)
Not really sure what to make of lap 4. I have often said the 2nd lap of a 3 lap race is the hardest, and that the miles 50-75 of a century is the hardest. I think this fits that model but at this point I think it's 100% in my head. I shall call it The Next to the Last of the Mohicans Effect.
As a point of comparison, Mike turned a 44:46 as his best time so when I was running on pace yesterday those times were pretty respectable. I think my official time was 4:47 which means I was stopped for about 30 total minutes of the race yesterday.
