If you are following along, yesterday I had a hub failure. When I took it apart last night, I found out that it's not just the cassette body spinning both directions, but instead the ratchet ring was spinning free in the hub. Short version...I need a new hub. Re-lacing a wheel is not in my wheel-house (<pun intended), so I decided to go see Mike at Town Cycle. He's going to get me taken care of...great LBS! So, that drove my venue selection for today...Wawayanda again.

Very nice ride. I had a chance encounter with @Kaleidopete during this ride. I'm always expecting to run across him and I finally did. Good to meet you sir. And because I know you like the Wawa details, here is the "trail-by-trail" rundown: "Cherry Ridge" to "Wall" to "Cherry Ridge" to "unnamed dead-end" to "Cherry Ridge" to "Red Dot" to "Double Pond" to "Laurel Pond" to "Cherry Ridge" to "White Dot" to "Hemlock and Load" to "Mojo Swamp" to "Cherry Ridge"...DONE!

On Hemlock and Load, a great trail in either direction:

I too have been thinking I'd meet up with you on the trails. It was a nice surprise to see you today. I don't meet many people on these trails. Thanks for the recap of the trails. I've never been on Hemlock N Load. The photo from Nature Jim's Bridge is great!

Tuesday 2/9, 16.9 miles 1:40 moving time - https://www.strava.com/activities/489864285

i commuted to work yesterday via my feet for recovery, then today i got back on the bike.

the wind was so goddamn cold today and since i was putting in zero effort i couldnt warm up. it was less than enjoyable.

also i dont know when this happened, but my jacket has a hole in it. great. time to go shopping!

i also chiseled off like 8 pounds of caked on mud from the fatso and soaked my race clothes for an entire day. looks like well have some snow to ride in tomorrow again

Next off the Island.
Where's the hill? ;)

hahaha, I gather you ribbing me. But to us flatlanders that could almost be called a hill :)

No ride since thursday. Almost didn't ride today, but I pushed on and rode an hour. 12 miles 0 feet elevation gain. Which is a lie, Since I had to ride up the dykes in Keansburg, since the storm door was shut. (This was a good 8 feet.) Which I have never ever seen before.

It was windy, cloudy and not a lot of fun. But it was good to be out and riding.
Pictures of sealed storm doors. And a very high tide

here is the "trail-by-trail" rundown:
"That "dead end" you hit is Rockadendren and goes to Porcupine back to the circle. see map. ps when you pick up your wheel ask Mike to see the kaleidoscope he has.

The one I rode down is a little further downhill on Cherry ridge right in that turn. Rockadendren is straight across from Wall. In checking out the GPS, the one I explored seems to head right toward that swamp. It's starting to get ridden in. So, at some point it could be a connector to Red Dot.

P.S. What map you got there?

Stephen's State Park. Its also been a while since I rode here. Did a mellow ride because my legs suck atm. Really wanted to hit dp or north afterwards but decided to beat traffic and head south. Picked up some tools for the south chapters and called it a day. Home by 5 is nice after a few days away.

I was pretty lazy taking pics on this trip. Mostly just tossed my bike down while waiting for people to get dressed and/or to get to the ride. I already miss north jerz.
