It's amazing how clean I was at the end of the race. There was some mud, but not bad at all. It was perfect "Cross" conditions.

I think there was more mud on the one hill at Caffeinated than the entire Cooper course, ha

Every lap was a battle to get the mud out of the cleats today

That was some tenacious clay on the run up.

After a couple laps of running down the backside and filling my cleats full of clay and then spending the next straight kicking my pedals, I decided to remount at the peak and ride down the backside - was able to clip back in. Seems the cleat picked up the clay on the backside.

Cooper was so clean. I was expecting the worst.

@Mountain Bike Mike I agree, during pre-ride I ran down the backside, but during the race I mounted at the top it was much faster and kept my cleats clean.

That's smart, wish I would've thought of that yesterday. Next year....
