Pedal Strike. I had a host of small mishaps in 2 sessions yesterday. Early in the day I bailed on a gap by hopping sideways off one of the jump boxes and landed front wheel first and rotated my shoulder really weird. Made a fairly audible crack and was sore the rest of the day. During my Summit evening session I missed going to rear wheel on a picnic table and just flipped backwards to the ground. Pizza Steve thought I was dead, but I only ended up scratching my elbow. Trials is fun. I did make one pretty good sized ledge gap so I sorta feel like some muscle memory is kicking in or something.

Catching up after a sweet weekend of mountain cycling with the family and a horde of others at Cranks Around the Campfire. I had a Staff meeting on Friday after work so I ended up missing the first ride, but still got to hang out at the fire and catch up with many peeps. We have not racked up the Sportwagen yet, so I had to stuff all the bikes in the GTI. The wife and kids got there earlier in the day and set up camp.

Saturday Eric and I hit the Stephens ride first. I've never been there so it was fun to ride a new place.

After that I headed out with little Brodie for a trials bike session around camp. Kid is super awesome.

After a quick break I headed out into Mooch North to do some solo exploring, I basically followed the '12 Mooch Madness Course but added a bunch of the fun stuff as well. God damn that park is awesome.

Another trials session, rest period, dinner.

Then a night ride to finish off the first day. Chasing Dan and Ben on the descents was super fun. I was basically on the bike from 9am until 10pm in some shape or form.

Sunday morning we headed out to Deer Park, which I've also never been to. About halfway through the ride I decided it was just too slow going and I broke off to do my own thing. I generally avoid group rides because I can cover a lot more ground on my own. And I actually carry stuff to fix my bike, which apparently not everyone does.

Rode every trail in Deer Park. Cut through Stephens. Somehow ended up in Waterloo Village. Took the road to Sussex Branch Trailhead and jumped into the back side of Mooch. Was heading North into the corner I missed Saturday when my Garmin died. It was hot and getting late, so I had to fight my urge to find my way back and just backtrack to the road and ride into camp. Everyone was packed up and gone by the time I got back as it was.

Spectacular weekend. Was great to catch up with old friends, current friends, and make new friends.

Monday was an easy session around Summit on the Trials bike. Basically to fill the strength portion of my training plan, just a lot more fun. I'm running about 50% on the trials bike at the moment. Each session gets cleaner, smoother, and a little bigger. If anyone has a trials bike collecting dust, you're welcome to join.
