No riding for me this weekend...

Saturday, chilled with the family most of the morning

Then I finally got around to fixing my shit box toyota. Fuel line rusted and burst, I tried replacing it but I noticed every line right to the tank was completely shot, so step 1 was removing the tank and figuring out off of the parts I needed

Today me and the family drove to long island to check out the cradle of aviation museum

Long island was the location for Grumman, Fairchild, Republic, Vought, and Curtiss, and a number of other airplane manufacturers, so there was alot of out donated stuff from the old factories...

Fairchild must have had a bunch of A10 parts laying around when they closed up...there are at least 3 different cockpit sections which are ~1500lbs of titanium armor

The Moped
Friday I put this bike together and tried it at Ringwood. It's a little long in the top tube for me for this type of riding. Great LewMo bike, but it requires way too much body movement in the tech stuff to navigate ringwood. I have to constantly get out of the saddle for even small obstacles, I have like no leverage on the front cause it's long.

Here's a cool shot. A woman leading "Andrew" and a guy aid climbing twilight zone. @seanrunnette has done that one.

Then while climbing "Doublecrack" I met this awesome Russian dude. I can't figure out his name. I tried googling it. Sounds like Afghani but it starts with Yef. Yefghani I think, but I can't find a name that exists like that.
He's in the middle of leading a 5.9R and he stopped for pictures and took out a mustache comb and brushed his mustache first :)

Sunday I woke up with zero plans. So as per usual I just wound up in the Ryerson School lot to ride ringwood. The TOS lot was overflowing already, and look how many MTBers are in the high school parking lot. I always tell @Norm that we need to do something to get attract these people to the board, because I don't know who any of these people are. With TOS completely packed, and this, I assume Lot C was packed too. And any of the other 894602862 parking lots for ringwood.

I didn't take crap for pictures, but I rolled for about 7 hours. Strava says 5.5 but we all learned on the kingdom trip that strava "is completely fucking useless"

When i was just about done I got a text from my wife asking when I'd be home with the car, I had taken the Saturn and she was going to the airport to get her mom and her mom's friend. Oops, so she had to go get them in the Mustang. 2 obese italians had to cram into a mustang. Sucks for them! haha.
I was hoping when I got home my wife wanted to go out for dinner and I could shove my face full of tortilla chips and freezing diet coke, but she wasn't home and I found a platter of chicken in the fridge that I think we were supposed to live on for a week, but instead I ate the whole thing. Then I ate a mountain of fruit with a can of whip cream. I couldn't stop, so I made one of those GU recovery drinks. That finally made me stop eating.

Watched the Rousey UFC fight.
This has become like the hayday of Tyson. It's almost comical to see who they throw in the ring with her. Nobody cane come even remotely close to touching her.
She used zero Judo in this fight. (she won a medal in the olympics for Judo in 2008) and went toe to toe with this kickboxer she was fighting. It's almost embarrassing to watch at this point. It's like she's fighting toddlers or something.

Then I couldn't sleep for shit all night. I kept waking up, so frustrating. I'm usually a good sleeper. I was up like every hour stirring around. Sucks. Still feel kinda shitty this morning.

Watching neighbor's pibble for the week

Did you happen to see the entire contents of my saddle bag on the skylands trail? I lost everything on Friday night. tube, multitool, quicklink, dignity. Thankfully I didn't put my keys in there. I swear I closed it. I didn't see anything on Sunday. Annoying.
Hey we are getting a pitbull mix to watch on Sunday. Soda-pop!

I knocked on some guy's door in PA to see if he would sell me his Rabbit. He said no. This is my Holy Grail.

Saturday I raced in the Krista Griesacker 12 hour adventure race in Hamburg PA. thankfully the temperature never really got too hot. fun course with a super painful thorn filled 2 kilometer bushwhack to finish. We came in 1st in 10 hrs 19 mins. only about 15 mins ahead of the 2nd place team.

Aly raced with 2 of our friends who wanted to try adventure racing. They paced themselves well, but the finishing bushwhack ate them up and they ended up finishing late and losing all their points. Still, they beat one other team in the 3 person coed category and finished 3rd!

Sunday was a recovery day. I slept in until 9 and did prettymuch nothing except for unload all of the stinky-ass gear from the van.

Thursday I ripped open my shin at Wawayanda. Wife convinced me to get stitches that night. So, Friday became a day to "work on the fleet". In the good news category, all that needed to be done was brake pads and tires on 1 MTB and tires on my "road bike". As usual, the tubeless busted my balls, but worked out. So, Saturday with injury, wifey was going to kill me when I suggested I might MTB. So, I hit the road. Sunday was a day at Sandy Hook with 16 family members for my nieces B-day. There's a bunch of them in the water in pic below. I feel very well rested. I've negotiated Tuesday as my "return to the woods day"

Took the weekend off from riding and went to beach in Asbury with the family and cousins. Cousin tells me "here's your badge" and didn't look twice at until I was sitting down later in the day. Badge is two seasons old and marked up to look like this years.....

I didn't get a picture, but a friend managed to snap his carbon seat post off at Six Mile.
