When the Turbine cranks on my fatbike started giving me creaking/clicking issues, it turned out the spindle had come loose. Unlike some cranks, the spindle on these isn’t permanently fixed to the crankarm it’s attached with a bolt. After years of use, mine just decided to loosen up on me...

FYI, I used an older short travel 26" fork for my daughters 24" bike and it worked out awesome. I'm sure it slackened it out a bit, but worked great. I found it way easier to source a decent 26" fork as opposed to looking for something decent intended for 24" wheels.

Thanks All. Not overly concerned for myself, I am NOT likely to be competitive. Racing for fun since I will be there anyway. Mostly anticipating these questions from my daughter who takes racing a lot more seriously. It really wouldn't be so bad if I do two short loops by mistake :cool:

Thanks, but I dont know these trails. But how do they mark those spots so you dont inadvertently go the wrong way. I mean sometimes when its just one loop and there are no “choices” its easy to go off course (hello Mayhem 🤣). It seems daunting to have to deal with multiple options under race...

We just registered in cat2...My daughter and I. Question for those who've done this before, it says we do one short and one long loop, but how well are they marked? I assume there is at least one "fork in the road" so to speak where you could both the loop. Seems a bit strange to me to do it...

I own one earbud, the left one. My oldest daughter lost one of hers so she needed a new set. I took the old set with one missing, so I rock left ear only at the gym so I can hear my surroundings, just not by choice. Now her newer set has been missing for a week. Hoping it's in the house...

Here's My Recap. My fat bike wave started 2 min before my daughters. I asked the starter to delay them more, but I don't think he listened. I was off to a good start, but got caught by the first rider from my daughters groups in about half a lap; towards the start of the single-track section...

My daughter and I are in.... She's doing cat2 15-18 and I'm doing the fatbike open. My primary mission is to use the head start I assume I'll get over my daughter to NOT get passed by her. But if I can beat her time I will absolutely throw it in her face! Very nice turnout for her girls...
