Thank you! It’s been pretty cool to see them grow and become a popular destination. I remember sort of begging Norm to do a short track race there years ago to help us show what is possible to the town. Lot’s of volunteers have been involved for a long time. Many have done much more than I have...
I’ve not been out but once since this all resurfaced. It was fairly overgrown when I visited and I left pretty scratched up. It sort if is what it is at this point. Best bet is probably to “just don’t ask, don’t tell.” As annoyed as I am about the whole situation, I know that the town has bigger...
JORBA was always viewed as an ally. They helped us from the beginning with tools and some advice. You're correct, though, we maintained an independent core group for various reasons.
About 6-7 people do and have done the lion’s share of the build and maintenance and it was all done with oversight from the town environment committee. Sure there have been townsfolk out occasionally, but this was mostly built and regularly maintained by <10 volunteers who were involved from the...
As I understand it, either the town never knew about the deed restrictions (this is likely) or the change of use agreement was never completed. This was brought up by a neigh or in 2019 and came to a head in 2020 when the state was notified.

The deed restriction clearly prohibits mountain bikes somehow. I think motorbikes was the intention but the deed itself is clear. There needs to be a change of use agreement on the original deed. My understanding was that the change of used was agreed to pending the execution of the remediation...
I started the trails in 2010 or 2011 with Thatcher Simpson. After ~12 years of it, and a few years now of fighting to defend them. I’m out. The 6-7 people who maintain the trails haven't been consulted in this whole decision. We ran into neighbor issues in early 2020 and solved the immediate...
