Carrying a bike on a convertible

Yes. Thinking about the OP's situation... how big is the trunk? With the wheels off, does the bike fit? I've found removing pedals can help a lot with getting bikes to fit easier/better into tight spaces. One of my friends has a E39 540is as his daily driver. I think he has a roof rack for...

Carrying a bike on a convertible

And hoods... which don't cover the engine compartment... As mentioned, 4 out of my 5 toy/classic cars are British. The 5th is Swedish and their terms for body bits generally translate to American English - at least in the service manuals. Years ago I stuffed my road bike into the back of my...

You mean... like a down-country bike? (runs and hides...)

Carrying a bike on a convertible

Relevant to my situation... as I have 3+ classic cars and using them to get to rides would be nice once in awhile. For my Spitfire and TR8, I have pretty much figured on welding together custom 2" receivers for a rack. Just one more project to add to the to-do list... My GT6 can use a roof...

No Men’s Slopestyle at Rotura ☹️

Of course, we're dealing with a level of money with far fewer zeros, but the general concept is the same. It's a bit of a chicken-egg situation. In many ways, mtn bike cycling events have never strayed far from their amateur participation roots.

No Men’s Slopestyle at Rotura ☹️

Perhaps... but without knowing the actual figures involved, it's really just speculation. The general lack of open discussion has also been an issue with the WC racers. Unfortunately, I agree with you about women's slopestyle. It was great to watch the first ever World Tour women's comp, but as...

No Men’s Slopestyle at Rotura ☹️

I would argue a closer analogy would be the NFL or even F1 where teams get a percentage of broadcast revenue. One reason why making the playoffs is such a big deal: mo' money. And in F1, the better the team finishes at the end of the season, the more money they get.

No Men’s Slopestyle at Rotura ☹️

From the rider statement, it sounds like this situation has been brewing behind the scenes for quite a while. Unfortunately, it came to a head at this event. World Cup riders have similar complaints. In theory, WBD is making money off broadcast rights for these events. Some of that money...

    Let's see your Walmart bikes!

From what I've gathered from watching a few Seth videos, it seems some Walmart bikes aren't bad. Especially if you have the skills to make sure it's been set up properly. "Walmart bike" reminds me of many, many years ago when I agreed to check out a co-worker's bike... not knowing it was a...

    E-bikes are a thing

It definitely has me interested. When they make one with a bit more travel (160+) at a similar weight, they will finally be where I want one to be.

Raceface Turbine or Fox Transfer dropper

For whatever it's worth, the Bike Yoke dropper that came with my Spot is still working after 4 years of use/abuse. Only maintenance has been replacing the cable once a couple of years ago when it snapped at Kingdom trails. Replaced the cable myself outside the shop (since they apparently...

    Generic Pro Road Cycling Thread

It might be an odd classics season as some of the top riders focus their training to peak for the Olympics... Tadej pulled off a Babe Ruth move at Stade Bianche, but at the same time, not all of the big names were there (Sepp Kuss and.... ??). And UAE put on a masterclass example of teamwork...

What are the WORST new bike trends for 2024

I see Park makes a tool for facing the mounting surfaces, but I find it odd the tool doesn't seem to make sure both mounts are on the same plane, although perhaps that is part of the checking process.

Best bike trends //2024 bike edition

Not personally, but a few of my teammates in DC have them and for the most part like them. One common discussion they are having is about shoes - apparently not all shoes work well with the mag-pedal cleats/plates. It's been interesting to watch from the sidelines and not really participate in...
