Looking for Wood Craftsman to build custom writing desk. Help me.

Does anyone know of a custom wood craftsman who can build a custom writing desk?

I have been looking for desks for months and can't find what I want so I am looking to do a custom build. I would like to find someone who can explain the different types of woods and help with design and finish.

I work from home so I am looking to build a center piece for my home office.

Just off loaded fifteen 3" thick x 30" wide slabs of oak today. Smashed my knee pretty good. Marty-cross will be extra painful tomorrow.

that is so cool, I just realized that's probably you at your home, thought it was a mill originally from my phone
we had so many maple and oak trees come down in the rear wooded area during Sandy and always wished I could have done some with it instead of firewood
